From being born in Lagos, Nigeria to working in several different fields of interest, Jane's diverse background brings much to offer council as the Ward 3 representative.
In 1982, Jane attended Brock University, where she took an interest in political science and business economics. This led her to work as an assistant buyer for a large clothing chain and then later to owning and operating her own chain of clothing and gift stores.
At 40 she had her son Michael, and decided that it was time to expand her knowledge. She worked for the Bicycle Trade Association of Canada, as sales manager for their industry trade show. This experience took her to a new career path as an Independent Contractor, a Senior Account Manager for Loyalty Group's AIR MILES reward mile program.
Her passion for politics has never wavered. Jane was re-elected in 2022 for her fourth term on Council. Over the years she has been involved in both Federal and Provincial politics, including running as the candidate for the PCPO in 2014. She has been actively involved in a number of organizations volunteering her time for Community Living Newmarket Aurora, The Optimist Club, Bereaved Families of York Region as well as the Newmarket Baseball Assoc to name a few.
Jane is married to her husband Joe and they have a son, Michael that keeps her very busy.
