The Town of Newmarket ​Archives preserves, and makes public the Town's corporate history. The Town archives contains historical records such as Council Minutes, Bylaws, Resolutions, Election material, and more.  The Town has digitized the following list of materials available to the public. 

  • Council Minutes,  1949 to 2014
  • Committee of the Whole Minutes - 1958 to 2014
  • Council Workshop Minutes - 2010 to 2014
  • By-laws  - 1881 to 2018
  • Election results - 1962 to 2018
  • Council Resolutions 1973 to 2018

To access copies of these records or learn more about what other archival records the Town holds, please contact [email protected] or 905-895-5193. Access to large volumes of records will be made available by appointment only. Copies of individual records can be emailed.

Access to detailed Election Results from 2000 to 2018 are available in spreadsheet format through the Town's Open Data site. 

Copies of Town Council minutes prior to 1949 are available on microfilm at the Newmarket Public Library. Other Historical resources are available online through the Newmarket Public Library's Digital History Collection
