Council Remuneration
Background
In 2008, Council adopted a policy on compensation which provides:
- A market comparison of Members of Council compensation is conducted in year four of each four year term of Council. The market comparison will be conducted with comparator municipalities.
- Base pay for Members of Council is revised annually to reflect any economic adjustment, or as otherwise determined.
The Mayor and Deputy Mayor/Regional Councillor roles are classified as full-time elected offices while Ward Councillors are classified as part-time elected offices.

- Top amount is base pay from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. A 0.25% increase was applied retroctive to April 1, 2021
- Bottom amount is base pay from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023
- Base pay for April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024 is $62,375
