Newmarket will celebrate inclusion, community and joy at York Pride Festival’s 25th Anniversary, June 21 and 22 

We are proud to once again partner with York Pride to host a vibrant weekend of festivities, June 21 and 22. 

Celebrating its 25th Anniversary, the York Pride Festival 2025 will be even bigger this year with more activations. The York Pride Festival is anticipated to draw thousands of community members, participants and visitors coming together to celebrate one of the most inclusive and community-driven festivals in the province.  

To prepare for the festivities and ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time, here’s what you need to know:

Event Details 

    • Date: Saturday, June 21 and Sunday June 22
    • Location: Downtown Newmarket including Main Street and the Riverwalk Commons Area (200 Doug Duncan Drive) 

    This event will feature dedicated zones for families, youth, adults 19+, and seniors, creating space for everyone to feel seen and included. Learn more about what's happening at the event by visiting YorkPride.ca 

    Parade Information and Route

    • Trans March Parade on Saturday, June 21 at 3 p.m.
      • Parade Route: The Trans March starts at Main Street and Queen Street, travelling southbound along Main Street towards Timothy Street towards Riverwalk Commons.  

    • York Pride Parade on Saturday, June 21 at 6 p.m. 
      • Parade Route: The York Pride parade kicks off at Main Street and Queen Street, travelling southbound along Main Street, before turning left onto Water Street. Marchers will then cross the Fairy Lake bridge onto Doug Duncan Drive towards Riverwalk Commons.  

    Where to Park and Shuttle Information 

    Limited parking will be available downtown for the event as major parking areas will be closed to accommodate the event. Consider carpooling, using the shuttle services and park at other open parking lots.

    • Sunday, June 21 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. 

    Routes and Stops
    Free York Regional Transit (YRT) shuttle busses will be running throughout the event due to limited parking in the downtown area. Look for York Pride signs at the locations below and hop on the shuttle (available every 10-15 minutes). 
    • Magna Centre (800 Doug Duncan Drive) (west entrance)
    • Ray Twinney Recreation Complex (100 Eagle Street West) (front entrance area) 
    Open Parking Lots
    • Magna Centre (800 Mulock Drive) - take the free shuttle from the west entrance to the event
    • Ray Twinney Recreation Complex (100 Eagle Street West) - take the free shuttle from the front entrance to the event
    • Municipal Offices (395 Mulock Drive) 20-25 minute walk along the Tom Taylor Trail to the event 
    • Fairy Lake Parking Area - 5-10 minute walk to the event
    • Market Square (Botsford Street) - 2-5 minute walk to the event 
    • Dennis Park (525 Cane Parkway) - 20 minute walk along the Tom Taylor Trail to the event 
    • Gorham Outdoor Pool and Lions Park (424 D'Arcy Street) - 5-10 minute walk to the event 
    • Street parking along Church Street and other streets in the downtown area where parking is applicable

    Newmarket Farmers' Market on Saturday, June 21 will move to AOK Playground
    The Newmarket Farmers' Market will take place at the All Our Kids Playground (535 Timothy Street) on Saturday, June 21 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

    Due to limited parking available in the downtown area, those atteding the Farmers' Market are encouaged to take advantage of the Free Shuttle Services from the Magna Centre or Ray Twinney Recreation Complex. Shuttles will start at 8 a.m. See shuttle details above.
